Tom Hussey, inspired by grandfather George T. Miller, began painting in oils at age twelve. Half a decade later he has not lost enthusiasm for putting paint on canvas.
Tom opened his Auburn, NY studio in 1998 and a summer studio in Northport, Maine in 2014 He frequently paints “en plein air” with oils, and also utilizes acrylics and pastels for studio work.
Tom finds the Northeast a landscape painter's paradise. “In addition to inspiring local subject material, I also get a chance to see great exhibits by my favorite painters at museums throughout the region,” he notes. Exhibiting at summer festivals throughout the Northeast keeps the artist in touch with a large market, as well as a community of fellow artists.
