Meet Our Staff


Kathryn James, Executive Director

          Besides her deep faith and love of artwork, Kathryn brings the experience of a lifetime in the workplace to the Lighthouse Arts Center.  Her artistic and scholarship accreditation includes Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees from the State University of New York, primarily through long distance learning, as well as several years of personal study with watercolorist Paul Elliott in Upstate New York.  She is a skilled watercolor artist and has taught classes for many years.  Her thirty years working in various positions for a large corporation has given her knowledge in time management, organizational skills, employee oversight and development, customer service handling, public relations and corporate planning.  And while she was doing all that, she completed the Famous Artists Course as well as wrote and self-published a biography.  She is excited to enter this new aspect of her lifetime and to share her love of Christ through the beauty of art.


Joyce Greco, Managing Arts Director

            Joyce brings a wealth of experience in art education, gallery management and visual merchandising to the Lighthouse Arts Center. Delighted to call Bucksport home, she believes she is truly blessed by her association with the Lighthouse, where her passion for art, and desire to connect with and promote other artists, can serve the Lighthouse Arts Center for many years.  She earned her BFA at the Columbus College of Art and Design majoring in Advertising Design and immediately began working as a corporate identity designer for emerging jewelers, upscale confectioners and the business consultant industry in Columbus Ohio, Long Island and Central Florida. She later earned her Masters of Liberal Studies at Rollins College Hamilton Holt School, and taught Humanities and Mythology for Valencia College. After operating a successful mural business for residential, and commercial customers in Central Florida for eighteen years, Joyce worked for Universal Studios as a Technical Specialist on the Scenic crew.

Sadie Personeni, Education Director

            Sadie is a recent graduate of the University of Maine where she received her Bachelor's degree in Art Education and Studio Art, as well as earned her Maine K-12 Visual Arts Education Certification. Sadie grew up in the small town of South Berwick, Maine, where she discovered a love for creating art and found inspiration from her family, the surrounding community, and nature. While attending the University of Maine, Sadie found a passion for teaching and community based arts that she hopes to bring to the Lighthouse Arts Center. She enjoys experimenting in a wide array of media, but especially loves all forms of printmaking, ceramics, and drawing. Sadie is thankful to be a part of the Lighthouse Arts Center team and looks forward to involving the community and beyond in many exciting projects, workshops, and classes to come! 

Maggie Hopkins, Communications and Administrations Manager

           Maggie grew up in Orland, and went to Orland consolidated school. Maggie went to Bucksport high school when she entered 9th grade. As a senior Maggie was interested in beginning a career in helping people, and always learning new things. While still attending Bucksport high school she had the opportunity to attend Hancock county technical center, which offered a variety of classes. The class that stuck out to Maggie the most was the certified nursing assistant program. Maggie became a student at HCTC and began her CNA training. She also took classes to become a CRMA and started a newjob at Jed Proudys. Maggie has always been interested in Art and learning new techniques and finding her own passion in art.  Working at Lighthouse allows Maggie to fuse her love for helping people with her desire to learn about art.  "Art is a great way to express your love and passion for whatever that may be for everyone."
