Clay and Sip: Throwing on the Wheel
July 21 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm$45
This pottery workshop is designed to teach you the basics for throwing on the wheel. We will focus on centering and creating the cylinder. From the cylinder you will be able to create so many other forms in seconds.
While there is a lot you can learn, all you really need to know to get started is the basics, then its practice, practice, practice. We have $5 day passes so you can come in when it fits your schedule after this workshop to continue your practicing.
Our pottery studio is small so you will have to take turns throwing but watching others can be as helpful as practicing yourself. We will also talk about the many stages of working with clay.
Please be sure to wear clothes that will get dirt (possibly stained) and short fingernails are helpful.
Instructor: Sarah Thornton
Cost of the class includes 5 lbs of clay to throw on the wheel
Ages: 21 and older
For this workshop there is no minimum number of students required. This clay and sip will run with even one student. The maximum number of students is 6.
