Pastels Class (All Levels)

September 20, 2018 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 10:30am on Thursday, repeating until October 11, 2018

Join us for an exciting journey into the colorful world of pastels! Beginners will learn about types and use of pastels and supports. All students will learn strategies for planning a painting including use of the color wheel to select a limited palette. Students will learn how to correct mistakes and will learn ways to improve their final paintings.

Not sure what exactly are pastels?

Soft pastels, sometimes referred to as chalk pastels are not chalk at all. They are made from dry pigments with a bit of gum arabic added as a binder. There are varying degrees of “softness” among pastel brands, and each has its use in making pastel paintings. The vibrant colors of pastels are used to make richly colored artworks without the wait of drying time.

This is a popular class with returning students all the time.
