A Bucksport High School graduate, Edward Des Jardins earned his degree in Architecture from Harvard and practiced in the Boston/Cambridge area for thirty years.
His detailed sketches and hand-colored renderings of historic buildings and communities of North-Shore Boston and coastal Maine are familiar to collectors throughout New England. A recipient of the Massachusetts Historical Commission Historic Preservation Award in 2014, Ed presently lives in a small coastal town north of Boston.
His sketches of the Bucksport, Maine Area capture the rich history with its historic buildings, along with its waterfront and views of Fort Knox and the Penobscot Narrows Bridge. Some sketches even bring to life the Waldo-Hancock Bridge that is now gone, but brought so many great memories and stories to our residents.
